Vodafone Idea’s enterprise arm launches Hybrid SD-WAN solution for businesses

Vodafone Idea’s enterprise arm, Vi Business, Thursday launched the Hybrid SD-WAN (Software Defined Wide Area Network) offering aimed at modern businesses and companies that are seeking cost-efficient, advanced security solutions.

“This enhanced proposition is designed to provide businesses with unique solutions such as Hybrid Network, Integrated Security, Monitoring & Analytics and Intelligent Routing,” said Vi Business in a statement.

The telecom operator’s enterprise arm said that the solution will enable enterprises to run applications on their multi-connected network with minimal downtime along with complete visibility of network applications and security, as well as real-time actionable insights.

In addition, it offers integration capability with any ILL/MPLS connection, supports 4G and 5G network, provides the option to choose any ISP, and runs pan-India broadband connectivity at a reduced cost.

In a hybrid SD-WAN set up, businesses use a combination of both Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) and direct-to-internet connectivity.

In addition to Nokia, Vi Business has extended its association with Fortinet to offer features such as OEM flexibility, end-to-end managed services, integrated low-cost access, multi-cloud integration and integrated security. It also provides a centralised management platform that allows businesses to configure and manage their network, while ensuring improved security and resilience.

“In today’s fast-paced digital world, businesses face a multitude of challenges, from ensuring network agility to managing costs and maintaining strong cyber security. To address this, we have introduced our latest proposition – Hybrid SD-WAN with flexible and scalable architecture,” said Arvind Nevatia, Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Vi.

To recall, Vi Business last year launched the ‘Vi Secure’ comprehensive cybersecurity portfolio in partnership with leading technology companies.

These security solutions include Web Security and Email Security and Maximum Device Security Solutions in partnership with FirstWave Cloud Technology (Powered by Cisco) and Trend Micro. Vi Secure also comes equipped with other key solutions such as Cloud Firewall, Managed Security Services, Secure Device Manager and Managed DDoS solutions through partnerships with Fortinet, IBM and Netscout Arbor.
