Ericsson upgrades private 5G solution with improved visibility & management, click-to-deploy functionality
Swedish telecom gear maker Ericsson has upgraded its private network solution, the Ericsson Private 5G, with features such as improved visibility and management, and well as increased coverage with click-to-deploy functionality.
Ericsson in a statement said that these upgrades to the Private 5G solution will become available globally in May 2023.
As per the statement, Switzerland-headquartered Nestlé has become the first company to deploy Ericsson’s upgraded private network solution in Brazil in Latin America.
“5G private networks provide a new reality for the industry. For us, the benefits include changing and simplifying the factory’s physical environment and the ability to connect a large number of devices to the same network. Being the first to implement this solution in Latin America is an exciting growth opportunity,” said Gustavo Moura, Manager, Digital Transformation for Operations Program, Nestlé Brazil.
Ericsson said its Private 5G solution, in collaboration with the Industry 4.0 partner ecosystem, is enabling innovative industrial applications, while also driving efficiencies in industries, and helping with “cost savings to further accelerate the modernisation and digitalisation of industries”.
Ericsson also outlined that the upgrades to management include watchdog support to provide incremental visibility to monitor and troubleshoot networks, as well as critical cloud management offering flexible deployment and full lifecycle management options.
“Working with a variety of device and cloud providers, developers, system integrators and more, we have bridged the gap between devices and applications with Ericsson Private 5G in a mission to unlock the full value of 5G and Industry 4.0,” said Thomas Noren, VP, Head of Dedicated Networks.
