RDI scheme to boost India’s deep tech sector: DST Secy Waghmare

NEW DELHI: The Centre’s recently unveiled ₹1 lakh crore fund will facilitate India’s deep tech sector, and the response to the ambitious scheme has been overwhelming, a top government official said.

“Companies in the deep tech sector have the best option (RDI scheme) available right now in India, which will definitely drive the deep tech sector at different levels,” Umesh V Waghmare, secretary, Department of Science & Technology (DST), told ETTelecom, adding that the private industry’s response has been outstanding so far.
