“Not going to prejudge”: Fed Chair keeps rate outlook open; calls AI “positive supply shock”
Bangkok [Thailand] October 16 (ANI): Federal Reserve Chairman Kevin Warsh has refrained from signalling the central bank’s next interest-rate move, saying he would not “prejudge” policy decisions, while describing artificial intelligence (AI) as a “positive supply shock” for the economy over the medium term.
During a fireside chat at the 2026 Annual Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, the Fed Chair said the United States is witnessing a massive surge in investment, although the trend is not equally visible across countries, challenging the theory of “secular stagnation”, which suggests that prolonged economic weakness is “inevitable”.
