IMC 2026: Programmable 5G SA, on-device processing critical to scale AI economy, say executives
NEW DELHI: Global technology leaders and industry executives on Thursday underscored that scaling artificial intelligence (AI) will require building programmable, intelligent infrastructure across 5G Standalone (SA), edge compute, and on-device processing.
Speaking at the ongoing India Mobile Congress (IMC 2026), Ericsson South-East Asia, Oceania and India CEO Andres Vicente noted that India’s rapid 5G adoption provides a foundation for advanced network use cases and 6G development.
