Modi calls for global rules on emerging tech and AI

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday highlighted the need for global standards and common rules for emerging technologies, while suggesting exploring mechanisms that allow users to immediately identify the origins of deepfakes and artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content.

He made these points while interacting with Global System for Mobile Communications Association (GSMA) Board members at Seva Teerth ahead of the India Mobile Congress (IMC), which is scheduled for October 7-10.

The London-headquartered GSMA represents mobile operators and organisations across the world.
