As AI fears ‘spread’, Donald Trump to meet CEOs of Meta, Google, Nvidia, Anthropic and other tech companies
US President Donald Trump is set to meet the CEOs of several major technology and artificial intelligence companies at the White House. This meeting comes as concerns about the risks posed by rapidly advancing AI systems continue to grow. The meeting comes as AI companies, lawmakers and governments debate how rapidly the technology should develop and what safeguards may be needed. A report claims that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, and Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang are expected to attend the lunch meeting, along with Palantir CEO Alex Karp.
According to a report by ABC News, US House Speaker Mike Johnson, who is also expected to attend, has said there should be a “deliberate discussion about the responsibility of the companies to maintain safety, and what role, if any, the government has to play in that.”
