Jio strengthens wireless lead in Aug; Vodafone Idea, BSNL add highest subscribers in 1 year: Analysts

NEW DELHI: Reliance Jio strengthened its wireless market lead by adding 2.4 million subscribers, including machine-to-machine (M2M) connections, in August, analysts said, analysing the latest data put out by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI).

They added that Vodafone Idea (Vi) and state-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) wireless subscriber additions were the highest in a year in the month.
