The artificial intelligence momentum has run into concerns of energy and resources. Training massive frontier AI models and powering billions of daily inference queries requires huge amounts of electricity and millions of gallons of water for server cooling. This puts pressure on natural resources and puts question on the feasibility of running AI sustainably. This is where Google comes in with a novel idea – take AI out of the Earth, quite literally.
