MeitY, Power Ministry commence consultation to develop indigenous chips for modules, grids

NEW DELHI: The government has initiated a consultation process to explore the indigenous development of power semiconductors and modules for power grids, aiming to reduce reliance on imported technology across critical national infrastructure.

The Ministry of Electronics and IT (MeitY), alongside the Ministry of Power and Powergrid, invited industry participants on Thursday for a pre-request for proposal stakeholder consultation ahead of issuing the final tender.
