India needs more chip units, robust domestic supply chain to meet 25% global semiconductor demand: Report
NEW DELHI: India’s target of meeting approximately 25 per cent of global semiconductor demand by 2032 will require additional fabrication and advanced packaging units, alongside a robust domestic supply chain, according to a JM Financial report, cited by news agency ANI.
The report noted that projects approved under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 1.0 alone will require capital equipment worth $12-13 billion, supported by maintenance facilities and a technical talent pool.
