Aadhaar daily use to triple as authentication expands across India’s digital economy

Aadhaar authentication is set for a sharp expansion, with daily transactions expected to nearly triple to 25-30 crore as more businesses turn to digital identity verification across banking, telecom, hospitality and other sectors.

“We are now doing about 10 crore authentications a day and we are preparing to be 25 to 30 crore. The number is expanding dramatically,” Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) chairman Neelkanth Mishra said at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai on Wednesday.
