Qualcomm signs AI chip deal with Amazon, offers right to buy nearly $4 bn in stock

NEW DELHI: Semiconductor giant Qualcomm on Tuesday announced that Amazon could purchase up to $60 billion of its AI data-center chips and related products under a long-term strategic partnership, according to a regulatory filing.

The agreement underscores increasing financial integration within the artificial intelligence ecosystem, with Qualcomm granting Amazon warrants worth approximately $4 billion that vest alongside product purchases, enabling the cloud company to buy shares at $161.26 per share.
