Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang congratulates OpenAI’s team on GPT-6 Astra launch, says ‘AGI has arrived’
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang has declared that artificial intelligence (AGI) has officially arrived, crediting OpenAI’s newly unveiled GPT-6 Astra model. In a post shared on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) Huang congratulated ChatGPT-maker OpenAI and wrote, “GPT-6 Astra, trained on ~100K+ NVIDIA Grace Blackwell NVLink72. From ChatGPT to o1 to Astra in 4 years. AGI has arrived. Congratulations @OpenAI team.” Huang further stated that GPT-6 Astra was trained on over 100,000 Nvidia Grace Blackwell NVLink72 systems, each designed to link 72 GPUs into a unified computing powerhouse. He initially cited 300,000 systems before revising the figure to 100,000. Looking ahead, Huang said 400,000 GPUs are coming online next, underscoring Nvidia’s central role in powering the AI revolution.
