Money Indian content creators are making

For India’s growing army of YouTubers and Instagram creators, views and followers may bring attention, but they do not automatically translate into a large income.

“Globally, over 3 million channels participate in the YouTube Partner Program,” said YouTube, adding that YouTube has paid out over $100 billion to creators, artists, and media companies globally over the past four years.

The Google-owned subsidiary said its creative ecosystem contributed more than Rs 16,000 crore to GDP and “supported over 930,000 full-time equivalent jobs, according to Oxford Economics.” It also said it distributed more than Rs 21,000 crore to creators, artists and media companies in India between 2022 and 2024.
