In a major legal victory for Google-parent Alphabet, a federal judge has decided that Google will not be forced to dismantle its advertising technology operations, sparing the search giant from the government’s antitrust remedy. Presiding over the case in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, Judge Leonie M. Brinkema filed her decision under seal, previewing the core outcome through a brief court order.

Notably, Judge Brinkema concluded last year that Google violated federal antitrust statutes to defend its grip on the automated infrastructure that delivers web display advertisements.
