Homegrown Nav Wireless deploys FSOC link in Auckland with 9Rayz

NEW DELHI: Indian deep-tech startup Nav Wireless Technologies, in collaboration with its New Zealand and Australia regional partner 9Rayz, has successfully deployed a Free-Space Optical Communication (FSOC) link across Auckland’s Waitematā Harbour.

This deployment represents a crucial international real-world application of India-developed optical wireless communication technology.

FSOC technology enables high-capacity data transmission using highly directional light beams through the atmosphere, eliminating the need for physical fibre cables. This capability is particularly relevant in areas where laying conventional fibre infrastructure is challenging, costly, or time-consuming, such as waterways, remote regions, and difficult terrains.
