Hyderabad techie arrested for posting defamatory content on social media against woman

A 30-year-old software employee was arrested for allegedly posting indecent and defamatory content on social media against a woman, police said on Sunday.

The woman, who is a former corporator, in a complaint reported that the accused created a fraudulent profile on a social media platform to target her, a release from Hyderabad Police said.

In October 2025, the accused used the fake account to post highly abusive, defamatory, and sexually explicit comments on a video featuring the victim, police said.
