Meta ‘showing sensitivity’ towards child sexual abuse content

Meta has shown increased sensitivity towards child sexual abuse material (CSAM)-related content and is taking a cautious approach to identifying and filtering unlawful material, even as the government has called for greater sensitivity to India’s linguistic and cultural context in content moderation, government sources said.

According to the sources, the government has made it clear to Meta that safe-harbour protection will not be available to individuals or persons involved in CSAM-related violations.
