Verification is semiconductor industry’s real bottleneck; India must build its own IP: KDEM’s Ajay Krishnan

BENGALURU: Verification is emerging as one of the semiconductor industry’s biggest bottlenecks as increasingly complex chips combine CPUs, GPUs, AI accelerators, security modules and third-party IP on a single system, according to Ajay Krishnan, vice president (ESDM), Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM).

Delivering the Guest of Honour Address at the ETElectronicsWorld Design & Verification Summit 2026 in Bengaluru, Krishnan said chip complexity is making trust harder to establish even as semiconductors become more valuable.
