India smartphone market declines by 10% on-year in 2Q26 amid cost, demand pressures: CMR
NEW DELHI: India’s smartphone market declined by 10% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026 (Q2 2026), weighed down by rising component and device costs, extended replacement cycles, and inventory optimisation across retail channels, according to the latest report released by CyberMedia Research (CMR) on Monday.
The affordable and value-for-money segments declined 88% and 30% year-on-year, respectively, while the premium segment (>₹25,000) grew 54% during the period, led by the super premium segment (₹50,000– ₹100,000), which surged 72% on continued aspirational demand.
