Trump-branded resort delays digital token plan

World Liberty Financial and its partners have delayed plans to sell a digital token tied to a Trump-branded resort in the Maldives, putting on hold one of the more ambitious projects in the crypto venture’s push to bring real-world assets onto the blockchain.

The token, which would give investors a share of revenue from loans financing the resort, was supposed to go on sale this spring. The offering has been pushed back as the war with Iran disrupts travel, people familiar with the matter said. The Maldives project, being developed by UK-based Dar Global Plc, was meant to be an early showcase for World Liberty’s ambitions beyond conventional digital assets.
