OpenAI’s first ChatGPT device could be a $400 smart speaker with a ‘living’ design

OpenAI’s first hardware device co-designed with former Apple design chief Jony Ive could be a small, screen-free smart speaker powered by artificial intelligence. According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the device is expected to be roughly the size of a hockey puck and have a “doughnut-shaped” design. Gurman says that the device could launch in 2027 and reportedly cost more than $300. The battery-powered gadget is expected to work as a portable personal assistant, using advanced AI models to offer more human-like voice interactions. It could also feature cameras, lights, sensors and moving parts that respond when users interact with it.
