Apple releases macOS Tahoe 26.6.1 to fix Screen Sharing security flaw

Apple has released macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, a new security update for Mac users that fixes a vulnerability related to the Screen Sharing feature. According to Apple’s security support document, the flaw could allow an attacker to authenticate to Screen Sharing without having valid credentials. Apple says it has addressed the security issue by improving state management. The company has also released updates for older macOS versions, including macOS Sonoma 14.8.9 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.9, with the same security fix.

The fix is not limited to Macs running macOS Tahoe. Apple has also released macOS Sonoma 14.8.9 and macOS Sequoia 15.7.9, which address the same Screen Sharing vulnerability.
