India’s the remote manufacturing brain for GlobalFoundries
GlobalFoundries does not manufacture chips in India. Yet, engineers in the country monitor, troubleshoot and improve the company’s semiconductor factories in the US, Germany and Singapore, often detecting problems before employees inside those plants begin their shifts.
The India centre has also become a product development and AI transformation hub for the US-based chip foundry, the world’s third largest, after Taiwan’s TSMC , and South Korea’s Samsung Foundry.
