Kerala unveils AI-led governance overhaul to streamline administration, speed up public services
Thiruvananthapuram, The Kerala government has launched a sweeping overhaul of its administrative machinery, introducing AI-assisted governance, digital public service delivery, faster land acquisition, deregulation and integrated planning systems as part of a broader effort to modernise the state’s bureaucracy and improve ease of doing business and ease of living.
The reforms, rolled out over the past month, include the creation of a central programme management unit to monitor priority projects, an AI-enabled business process re-engineering cell, a review of obsolete laws and regulations, adoption of a “once-only” document submission framework through DigiLocker, and new digital platforms for public asset management, infrastructure planning and land acquisition, according to official notifications and official sources.
