Cable TV body withdraws challenge to TV ratings policy

Mumbai: The All India Digital Cable Federation (AIDCF) has withdrawn its writ petition challenging the Centre’s Television Ratings Policy, 2026, days after the Kerala High Court passed an interim order upholding the government’s decision to exclude landing-page viewership from television audience measurement.

In a memo filed before the Kerala High Court on July 28, the AIDCF said that due to “certain subsequent developments”, it did not wish to pursue the case and sought permission to withdraw the petition, while reserving the liberty to file a fresh writ petition on the same or similar cause of action.
