MTNL liabilities reach Rs 40,000 cr in FY26; no restructuring plan in work: Jyotiraditya Scindia

New Delhi: State-run telecom firm MTNL has seen a surge in liabilities to Rs 40,000 crore till fiscal year 2025-26, Parliament was informed on Wednesday.

Union communications minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, in a written reply to Lok Sabha, said that the government has taken a series of measures that have helped MTNL turn operationally profitable.

According to data shared by the minister, MTNL had total liabilities of Rs 40,008.52 crore.
