5G upload speeds, latency constrain real-time AI workloads in India: Ookla study

NEW DELHI: The slow 5G mobile upload speeds combined with high multi-server latency have become constraints on real-time artificial intelligence (AI) workloads in India, according to the latest findings released by Ookla on Tuesday.

India currently ranks ninth globally in headline 5G download speeds. However, the network testing firm’s data revealed that the country’s multi-server latency, a metric that defines baseline network responsiveness under normal conditions, stands at 51.6ms.
