US close to allowing Anthropic to restore Fable 5 model, Axios reports

The Trump administration is close to allowing Anthropic to restore access to its Fable 5 model, Axios reported on Saturday, citing a source close to the situation.

Reuters could not immediately confirm the report. Anthropic and the ‌White House ⁠did ⁠not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Anthropic had abruptly disabled its most advanced AI models – Mythos 5 and Fable 5 – for all users after the government’s June 12 export control order.
