India to play role in global semiconductor industry’s race to $1.5 trillion milestone: TSMC

NEW DELHI: The world’s largest contract chipmaker, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), said India will play a significant role in driving the global semiconductor industry’s revenue to over $1.5 trillion.

“Going forward, as we see, we believe the semiconductor industry is going to grow to over $1.5 trillion by 2030…a lot of that growth is going to come from you folks in India,” Paul Rousseau, vice president (field technical solutions division), TSMC North America, said on Thursday.

Rousseau was speaking at Synopsys’ SNUG 2026 event in Bengaluru.
