Delhi data centre fire sees Google Cloud reroute traffic network capacity

A fire at a third-party data centre facility in Delhi triggered network disruptions affecting Google Cloud customers across multiple Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai, according to the company’s service status page late on Tuesday night.

Google Cloud said the fire required an emergency power shutdown of networking equipment at the facility, resulting in the isolation of a non-compute local Point of Presence (PoP) in Delhi reducing available network capacity in the metro region.
