‘Not hiring the kind of numbers we used to’: TCS chairman signals end of traditional campus selection spree

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT services company, has indicated that it will no longer hire employees at the scale it once did as artificial intelligence increasingly takes over portions of work traditionally handled by humans.

Speaking at the company’s 31st annual general meeting, TCS chairman N. Chandrasekaran said the rise of AI agents is fundamentally changing how the IT industry will operate in the coming years.
