How AI helped Agra police arrest loot accused absconding for 25 years

A loot accused who had been absconding for nearly 25 years has been arrested by the police using AI tools to trace his whereabouts, an official said on Wednesday.

Using a 25-year-old photograph of the accused, the police processed it with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and searched him across various social media platforms to identify possible matches, they said.

Samuel was wanted in connection with a Rs 1.75-lakh loot committed in Agra’s Lohamandi area on November 8, 2002, along with two associates, who were later arrested.
