Google, Telstra partner on fibre and subsea networks in Australia

Google and Australia’s Telstra announced a network-sharing deal on Tuesday under which Google will lease capacity on Telstra’s new fibre network ‌while ⁠gaining access ⁠to Google-backed undersea cables linking Australia with the United States, Japan and Pacific islands.

Google has selected Telstra and ⁠its new ‌fibre-optic Aura Network to further advance its AI ⁠capabilities in Australia.

Google will secure inter-city dark fibre capacity on Telstra’s Aura Network.
