5G slicing: Some Bharti Airtel users face handset compatibility issues with Priority Postpaid

NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel’s recently launched “Priority Postpaid” service, enabled by fifth-generation (5G) network slicing, is being rolled out in a phased manner. However, it has yet to become accessible to some Android smartphone and Apple iPhone users due to compatibility-related issues.

The Gurugram-based telecom operator’s service relies on the 5G standalone (SA) network architecture. Smartphones in the Indian market today support non-standalone (NSA) and SA across various price points.
