Hundreds of Wikipedia editors are threatening to go on strike and the reason is these engineers
Hundreds of Wikipedia editors are threatening to take major action against the company. These actions may include a potential strike. The threats of collective action reportedly followed the Wikimedia Foundation’s disbanding of a small team of engineers that many volunteers relied on for technical support and community-requested tools.
According to a report by The Verge, the controversy began on May 20 when the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF), the nonprofit that supports Wikipedia, announced it was dissolving the Community Tech team, a group consisting of five engineers and one manager.
