DoT directs PM-WANI stakeholders to roll out QR-based laptop login, short-duration packs
NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) on Tuesday directed Prime Minister’s Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM-WANI) stakeholders to roll out QR code-based authentication for secondary devices and launch short-duration Wi-Fi packs as part of reforms to drive the ease of Internet access for citizens.
The QR-based authentication will allow users to connect to PM-WANI Wi-Fi by scanning a QR code on the login page using an authenticated smartphone application, reducing friction for a seamless experience.
