Lava to invest ₹1,100 cr in components in next five years

Homegrown handset maker Lava International said it will invest Rs 1,100 crore over the next five years to manufacture electronics components, a senior company official said. The company opened an assembly line at its Noida factory to manufacture self-designed chargers for its mobile phones on Thursday.

Lava Executive director and chief manufacturing officer Sanjeev Agarwal said the company has applied for multiple applications under the electronics component manufacturing scheme (ECMS) to make display modules, camera modules, mechanical enclosures, and multi-layer printed circuit boards as part of a broader diversification strategy.
