Analog Devices to buy Empower in $1.5 billion cash deal to boost power chip portfolio

NEW DELHI: Analog Devices (ADI) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire artificial intelligence (AI) chip company Empower in a $1.5-billion cash deal.

The Silicon Valley-headquartered Empower Semiconductor manufactures voltage-regulating chips for AI processors and data centers, which help reduce energy footprint and total cost of ownership (TCO).

‌Wilmington, Massachusetts-based ADI provides semiconductors to various industry verticals, including ⁠aerospace, automotive, and communications.
