Networking gear maker Cisco to slash up to 4,000 jobs as it embeds AI
NEW DELHI: The US-based telecom gear maker Cisco will begin cutting about 4,000 jobs – representing less than 5% of its total employee base – from Thursday, as it embeds artificial intelligence (AI) across functions.
“We are making changes today that will result in the reduction of our overall workforce in Q4 by fewer than 4,000 jobs, representing less than 5% of our total employee base,” Chuck Robbins, chair & CEO of Cisco, wrote in an internal email to employees.
