Bharti Airtel explores 5G network slicing for premium plans

New Delhi: Bharti Airtel is exploring use of network slicing to offer differentiated voice and data-based plans to subscribers in a bid to monetise its 5G infrastructure, after rival Reliance Jio went public with its plans to also use network slicing for enterprise use-cases after receiving regulatory clarity, industry executives said.

Network slicing is a 5G technology feature that allows operators to create multiple virtual networks on top of a physical network infrastructure, with each slice tailored to specific needs.
