ISM 2.0 must support ecosystem development, says American EDA firm Synopsys

NEW DELHI: A top executive of Synopsys said the second edition of the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) must emphasise an ecosystem play, adding that the US-based company is supporting the chip design and IP needs of homegrown and multinational players.

“Our recommendation in this regard will be to think of ISM 2.0 as an ecosystem play rather than a set of isolated incentives. And success will largely depend less on individual incentives and more on how well the ecosystem is orchestrated,” Prith Banerjee, senior vice president (innovation), Synopsys, told ETTelecom.
