Google may redesign Gmail and other Workspace apps icon with new gradient look: Report
Google is reportedly working on a major redesign of its Gmail and other Workspace app icons. According to a report by 9to5Google, the company is now planning a wider update across its Workspace apps. As per the report, the redesign will bring a consistent visual style using gradient colours similar to those seen in Google apps like Search, Maps and Photos. The change is also expected to reflect the growing use of AI features across Google’s products. For those unaware, several Google app icons have already moved to a gradient-based design.
According to the report, Google is moving away from its earlier design approach that used all four company colours in most icons. Instead, the new icons will focus on simpler colour schemes and more distinct shapes.
