Centre to cut ITS officers’ deployment in BSNL, asks telco to develop internal talent

NEW DELHI: The Department of Telecommunications (DoT), in a communication to Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), conveyed the decision of the Cabinet for the reduction in deployment of Indian Telecommunication Service (ITS) officers at the state-run telecom carrier.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Union Cabinet has decided to reduce the deployment of ITS officers in BSNL from this year onwards, eventually cutting it down fully, and has sought the telco to prepare a succession plan.
