Intel hires Samsung chip manufacturing veteran to aid in foundry effort

SAN FRANCISCO: Intel said on Thursday that it had hired Samsung ‌foundry veteran ⁠Shawn ⁠Han to aid with Intel’s contract manufacturing effort.

Han has more than 10 years of experience ⁠at a ‌commercial foundry, and has worked on ⁠chip manufacturing processes beginning in 1996, the company said.

Intel has sought to reinvigorate its manufacturing business after years of ‌dysfunction under CEO Lip-Bu Tan.
