The platform is now officially deranking “low-quality” content and shifting its financial rewards toward original authors rather than those who simply repost viral clips. The update, announced by X Product Head Nikita Bier, appears to fix long-standing complaints about ‘engagement farming’ – a practice where accounts post clickbait or stolen videos just to rack up views and cash out.
