Oracle lays off 12,000 software engineers from India’s cloud computing business, second wave anticipated in a month

US-based IT firm Oracle has reportedly laid off around 12,000 employees in India, a PTI report said citing employees impacted by the same. They also said that another round of job cuts could take place within the next month. Worldwide, the company is estimated to have reduced its workforce by nearly 30,000 employees.

Two employees impacted by the layoffs, including one from the human resources team, said the India job cuts are significant and more reductions are being planned soon. Oracle’s total workforce in India stands at about 30,000 employees, including those who have been affected by the layoffs.
