Bulls back on D-Street! Sensex soars over 2,000 pts, Nifty above 22,900: 4 factors behind Rs 10 lakh crore gains

Indian stock markets surged sharply on Wednesday, with Sensex and Nifty surging more than 2.5% each as hopes for sooner end to the Iran -US-Israel war, among other factors, cheered investors.

At 10.06 am, Sensex surged over 2,000 points to the day’s high of 73,937, while Nifty50 gained over 550 points to trade above the 22,900 level. The return of the bulls at the beginning of the new financial year 2027 increased the total market capitalisation of all companies listed on BSE by nearly Rs 10 lakh crore to rise above Rs 422 lakh crore.
