Bharti Airtel re-launches ₹299 plan; analysts flag rise in subscriber churn after Aug tariff rejig

NEW DELHI: Bharti Airtel has relaunched the ₹299 prepaid plan with a 28-day validity, following an elevated churn in the fiscal second quarter after it rejigged its tariffs this year, forcing entry-level subscribers to recharge with a higher tariff pack.

The Airtel ₹299 prepaid plan now offers 1 GB of data per day, compared to 1.5 GB of data per day earlier, 100 SMS per day, unlimited calls and SMS, and now also includes a 12-month premium subscription to Adobe Express, according to the latest listing on the telco’s website.
